The Power of Social Media

This week I'd like to talk about how social media has helped us here at FFF Camps. Keeping track of how your audience is interacting with your social media pages is crucial when evaluating which posts are working and which are not. Measuring responses from your audience can help you learn what they want to see posted on your sites.

FFF Camps has its own Facebook page, however we only have 2 likes at this time and would really like to expand our reach to get closer with the community. Our most popular post was a caption contest that was seen by 10 people, I believe that people really enjoy using creativity and being engaged. I think that having a fun and engaging Facebook page is important when trying to market to potential customers and according to the website www.socialmediatoday.com , 42% of marketers agree.

Our Twitter page has had a little more success, gathering 11 followers over the past couple weeks. FFF Camps also utilized Twitter by following 22 other businesses, people, and organizations that are in a similar industry as us to gain knowledge and useful tips. The most beneficial use of Twitter for FFF Camps was keeping parents and campers informed of different changes going on around our facility. Twitter is quite popular and is a great place to connect with customers and clients, http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com noted that 20% of Americans that use the internet also use Twitter.

For those of you looking to measure your social media sites, I suggest using www.cyfe.com. Cyfe is free to use and very easy to navigate. Within a matter of minutes I had created an account, attached FFF Camps' Facebook and Twitter pages and was flooded with different information on the two. Cyfe allows you to see your followers, how many likes each post has gotten, how many retweets certain tweets got, and it also saves all your data in its system for months. Here is a photo of the Cyfe interface.
